We are happy to have you visit our venue. We hope that you take a wonderful memory with you from your experience. Please be aware of the other patrons around you and during the performance. Please turn off all noise-making devices. We also ask for you to keep talking to a minimum.
Doors open one hour before showtime, the exception is for cabaret shows, which open 30 minutes before showtime. Please plan accordingly.
Information Counter
Located in the Grand Lobby, the information counter is manned by a staff member to assist you with any questions or concerns. An assisted listening device may be obtained at this location. This location also serves as our lost and found department during events.
Smoke Free
The Akron Civic Theatre is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is permitted outside of the building.
No vaping is allowed in any of the areas of the Theatre, including Knight Stage and Wild Oscar's
Cameras, Tape Recorders, Pagers and Cellular Phones
Cameras, video and audio recording devices are not permitted for most shows. Please call the administrative office to find out what is allowed on the show you are attending. If cameras are not allowed, please do not bring them into the building. You will be asked to take these devices back to your vehicle. In consideration of other patrons, please turn off all cellular phones.
Backpacks and other large bags are not permitted in the theater. We reserve the right to search all bags upon entry. Backpacks and bags larger than 12" x 6" x 12" are not permitted. Diaper and medical bags carried into the theater are subject to search at the discretion of security.
The Akron Civic Theatre is a firearms-free facility. No one except on-duty law enforcement officials are permitted to possess or carry a firearm on the premises.
Seating Latecomers
Note the curtain time on your tickets, as events begin promptly. In consideration of others, latecomers will be seated at a suitable pause in the program. This includes patrons who leave the seating area before or during a selection.
Intermission
Intermissions are 20 minutes in length. Latecomers will be seated at a suitable pause in the program.
Restrooms
Our public restrooms are located in our North Wing on both the Promenade and Mezzanine levels. Baby changing stations are available.
Drinking Fountains
Drinking fountains are located on the Promenade and Mezzanine levels.
Food and Beverage Service
Our Concessions area located on the Mezzanine Level (at the top of the grand staircase) provides one-stop shopping for our patrons. An array of soft drinks, bottled water, coffee, beer, wine, candy and snacks can be purchased until the conclusion of intermission. The concession stand in the Grand Lobby (first floor) offers soft drinks, wine, beer, candy, hot pretzels and snacks. For most events at the Civic, food and beverages may carefully be taken into the seating area. Outside beverages and foods are not permitted to enter the building.
